Mousumi Akhter is a 28-year-old housewife who manages her household and supports her family despite their financial difficulties. She lives with her husband, his parents, two younger brothers, and one brother’s wife and child in a small tin-shed house with a mud floor, making an eight-member household. Her husband is the sole earning member and works as a local shop salesman, earning approximately USD 66 per month, which is insufficient to support such a large family and cover medical expenses. Mousumi was admitted with increasing weakness and intermittent lower abdominal discomfort after her pregnancy passed the expected delivery date and was diagnosed with post-dated pregnancy. Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is expected to provide a timely and controlled delivery for Mousumi’s post-dated pregnancy, reducing the risk of complications associated with prolonged pregnancy. If timely delivery is not provided, post-dated pregnancy may increase the risk of reduced fetal well-being, fetal distress, and complications during labor, potentially endangering both mother and baby.
