Joli Khatun is a 21-year-old calm and intelligent young woman who dreams of becoming a teacher and enjoys caring for pets. She lives with her father, Joynul Abedin, a day laborer earning only USD 44 per month, and her 65-year-old grandmother, Jinnatun Nicha; with no permanent home and no other stable income, the family struggles to meet even their basic needs and cannot afford hospital expenses. Joli developed severe lower abdominal pain with scanty menstruation, vertigo, vomiting, and weakness, and her worsening condition led doctors to suspect appendicitis and admit her for urgent treatment. Her family sought support from Helpster Charity after learning about it through a leaflet, as they could not manage the cost of her medical care. Hospitalization with NPO, IV fluids, antibiotic therapy, and proper evaluation is expected to stabilize the patient’s condition, control the underlying infection or illness, and support recovery. With timely treatment and close monitoring, the patient is expected to improve gradually and resume normal activities. If left untreated, the condition may worsen, leading to dehydration, progression of infection, nutritional compromise, and other serious complications. Timely medical management is therefore important to prevent further deterioration.
