Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

A 27-year-old pregnant woman lives with her husband, two daughters, and two elderly in-laws. Her husband works as a carpenter and earns approximately USD 49 per month as the sole breadwinner, making it difficult to afford basic needs and pregnancy-related medical expenses. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a health worker and sought assistance for her treatment. At 36 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy, she was diagnosed with breech presentation after experiencing lower abdominal pain and abdominal tightening. Without timely medical assessment and appropriate delivery planning, she and her baby may face obstructed labor, fetal distress, and serious delivery complications.

Prognosis

The recommended treatment for Most. Parul Begum is a Lower Uterine Caesarean Section (LUCS) under Spinal Anesthesia Block (SAB), as it is the safest option to deliver the baby promptly and prevent further complications. With timely surgery, both the mother and the baby are expected to recover well, and the baby is expected to grow up healthy. However, if the delivery is delayed or left untreated, the baby may suffer from oxygen deprivation, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, birth trauma, including brachial plexus injury, and head entrapment during delivery. The mother may also face serious, potentially life-threatening complications, making timely surgical intervention essential for the safety of both mother and child.
