Din Islam is a 17-month-old boy who developed high fever and severe cough for six days and was admitted to Saheda Gafur Ibrahim General Hospital after being diagnosed with typhoid. His father, Ujjal Khan (25), is responsible for supporting the family and earns approximately BDT 9,000 (around USD 74) per month, while his mother, Mousumi Begum (19), is a homemaker and his elderly grandparents also depend on the family. With this limited income, the family struggles to meet their basic needs and cannot afford Din’s hospitalization, investigations, medicines, and treatment expenses. The family learned about Helpster Charity through the Helpster support program and sought assistance for his treatment. As typhoid is endemic in the area, delayed treatment may lead to severe dehydration, intestinal complications, systemic infection, and other potentially life-threatening complications.

Doctor suggests to get admitted to hospital. Doctor and Nurses provide the baby proper treatment and affectionate care. As a result, Din Islam comes round from her illness and becomes heathy. At 24th july 2026, we discharged her. The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Charity and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Doctors have advised treatment with parenteral antibiotics along with supportive therapy to effectively control Din Islam's typhoid infection. With timely and complete treatment, his fever will gradually subside, his strength will return, and he will be able to resume her studies and daily activities without long-term effects. Proper medical care will also prevent the infection from spreading and protect his vital organs. However, if left untreated, typhoid can lead to severe complications such as intestinal perforation, internal bleeding, bloodstream infection, and even become life-threatening. Early intervention is therefore essential to ensure her full recovery and safeguard her future health.
