Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Ryan Roy Kimani is an 8-year-old Grade Three pupil and the second-born child of a single mother, Catherine. Due to his mother’s unstable income, Ryan lives with his grandmother in Thika. He has a convulsive disorder and attends follow-up clinics at Thika Medical Hospital, where he is on phenobarbital. However, he occasionally misses his monthly appointments when his mother cannot afford the associated transport and clinic expenses. Ryan enjoys interacting with other children, although his condition sometimes limits his activities. He dreams of becoming a carpenter because of his interest in furniture work. Ryan sustained an eye injury while returning home. As he struggled to open their gate, another child offered to assist but, during the interaction, struck him with a stick, accidentally injuring his left eye. He was immediately taken to Thika Medical Hospital, where he received first aid before being referred for specialized management. Further assessment revealed a left corneoscleral laceration caused by penetrating trauma from the stick, requiring urgent ophthalmic management to preserve the eye and minimize the risk of complications.

Prognosis

The child needs corneal surgery to preserve the physical structure of the eye and vision as well. if cornea repair is not done urgently the child is at risk of loosing eyesight. urgent treatment saves the child's eyesight, as we all understand life is challenging without sight.
