Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Amir Hamza is a 23-day-old newborn who became seriously ill with fever, breathing difficulty, poor feeding, lethargy, and cyanosis and was diagnosed with bronchopneumonia. He lives with his parents and another family member in a four-member household, while his father, Md. Hasan Sheikh, is the sole earner, working as a day laborer and earning only about USD 65 per month. Due to their limited income and modest living conditions, the family cannot afford the urgent medical care Amir requires and learned about Helpster Charity through hospital staff member Md. Kamruzzaman Shaikh. Amir requires urgent neonatal care because of his respiratory distress, low blood sugar, low body temperature, and poor condition. Without timely treatment, his bronchopneumonia and other complications may worsen rapidly, leading to severe respiratory failure and other life-threatening complications.

Prognosis

NICU care with broad-spectrum antibiotics, correction of metabolic abnormalities, oxygen/respiratory support, and close monitoring is expected to stabilize Amir’s condition and support recovery from bronchopneumonia. After improvement, he can be shifted to the ward for continued care and monitoring. With timely treatment, his breathing, feeding, and overall condition are expected to improve. If treatment is delayed, his respiratory distress, cyanosis, hypoglycemia, and hypothermia may worsen, potentially leading to severe respiratory compromise and other life-threatening complications.
