Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

The patient is a 38-year-old pregnant woman at 37 weeks and 1 day of gestation who enjoys sewing kantha and dreams of having a home of her own. She lives with her husband, who works as a van driver and earns approximately USD 49 per month, and their two school-aged daughters; the family has no permanent home and struggles to meet basic needs. As her husband is the sole earner and their income is limited, they cannot afford the medical expenses required for her treatment and safe delivery. After developing lower abdominal pain, discomfort, fatigue, and abdominal hardening, she was diagnosed with severe oligohydramnios and sought assistance through Helpster Charity after learning about it from a health worker. Without timely medical management, the condition may cause fetal distress, umbilical cord compression, delivery complications, and serious harm to the baby.

Prognosis

The recommended treatment for her is LUCS under SAB, which is considered the safest option to deliver the baby promptly and prevent further complications. With timely surgery and appropriate medical care, the baby is expected to recover well and have a healthy life. However, if delivery is delayed or the condition remains untreated, the baby may suffer from oxygen deprivation, which could lead to permanent brain damage or even death. The mother may also face life-threatening infections or other serious complications.
