Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Forhad Ahmed is a 17-year-old carpenter from Jaintapur, Sylhet, who has continued working to help support his family despite living with a painful raised scar on his right ankle following a road traffic accident 1.5 years ago. His father, Abdul Ahad, 60, is a daily wage labourer, and although Forhad also contributes through his carpentry work, the family’s combined income is only approximately USD 122–147 per month to support their large household, making it difficult to afford his surgical treatment. Forhad learned about Helpster Charity through Mr. Shahabuddin and sought assistance for the required treatment after the pain and swelling made it difficult for him to stand for more than 10 minutes. He was assessed by an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon and admitted to Sylhet Gastroliver Hospital on 29 August 2026 for surgical treatment. Without treatment, the painful hypertrophic keloid may continue to interfere with his ability to stand and work, potentially limiting his mobility and ability to contribute to his family’s livelihood.
Prognosis
According to the treating doctor, Forhad requires hospitalization under Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery care, excision of the post-traumatic hypertrophic keloid, split-thickness skin grafting, appropriate pain management, wound care, and regular follow-up. With successful treatment and proper wound and graft care, the painful scar and associated swelling and discomfort are expected to improve, potentially allowing him to stand and walk more comfortably and return to his daily activities. If left untreated, the persistent keloid may continue to cause pain, swelling, and local discomfort, further limiting his ability to stand and work. Regular follow-up is also important to monitor wound healing and reduce the risk of recurrence.
