Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

LIFE CARE HOSPITAL & DIAGNOSTIC CENTERRoumari, KurigramHospital contacts
Background

Mim Akter is a 19-year-old woman at 39 weeks of pregnancy who was admitted with abdominal pain and nausea and was diagnosed with breech presentation after clinical assessment and ultrasound. Her husband, Joynal Abedin (27), works in a mechanical workshop and is the sole income earner, earning approximately BDT 8,000 (around USD 65) per month, while Mim is a housewife and his two younger brothers and elderly mother also depend on this income. The family lives in a small tin-shade house with a mud floor, and their limited income makes it difficult to afford the hospital and delivery-related expenses. The family learned about Helpster Charity through a staff member of Life Care Hospital and sought assistance for Mim’s treatment. Without timely obstetric management, breech presentation at term may lead to obstructed labour, fetal distress, birth injury, or potentially life-threatening complications for the mother and baby.

Prognosis

Lower Uterine Cesarean Section (LUCS) is expected to provide a safer mode of delivery for Mim because of the breech presentation at term. The family initially attempted a normal delivery at home, but the attempt was unsuccessful, so she was brought to the hospital for further management. With timely surgery, appropriate preoperative assessment, and postoperative monitoring, the risk of delivery-related complications can be reduced, giving both mother and baby a better chance of a safe outcome. If timely delivery is not provided, breech presentation may lead to obstructed labor, fetal distress, umbilical cord prolapse, or other serious complications that can endanger both mother and baby.
