Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

LIFE CARE HOSPITAL & DIAGNOSTIC CENTERRoumari, KurigramHospital contacts
Background

The patient is a 20-year-old housewife who hoped for a safe delivery and a healthy baby despite her family’s difficult financial circumstances. Her husband, Sujon Mia, 26, is the sole earner and works as a day labourer at the Palli Bidyut office, earning approximately USD 65 per month, while the family also supports his elderly parents and their nephew. Living in a small tin-shade house with a mud floor and relying on a single low income, the five-member family struggles to meet daily needs and cannot afford the cost of Nurima’s hospital treatment; they learned about Helpster Charity through a Helpster volunteer. With a post-dated pregnancy and anemia, Nurima initially attempted a normal vaginal delivery at home, but labour did not progress and she was brought to the hospital, where doctors recommended LUCS for a safer delivery. Without timely medical intervention, prolonged labour and the post-dated pregnancy could increase the risk of fetal distress and other complications, while anemia may make the mother less able to tolerate blood loss during delivery.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctor, LUCS (lower uterine cesarean section) with supportive therapy, including blood transfusion, is recommended to achieve a safer delivery and address the risks associated with the post-dated pregnancy and anemia. Timely treatment can help prevent complications during labour and improve the mother’s ability to tolerate blood loss while providing a safer outcome for the baby. If left untreated, prolonged or failed labour may increase the risk of fetal distress and other delivery complications, while untreated anemia may increase maternal weakness and the risk associated with blood loss. Prompt medical intervention is therefore important for a safe delivery.
