Tonusree Rani Biswas is a gentle and cheerful 2-month-old baby girl who lives with her parents in a modest tin-roofed house with a mud floor. Her father, Sonnot Biswas, is the sole earner, working as a rented auto-rickshaw driver and earning only about USD 41 per month, which is insufficient to meet the family’s basic needs and cover Tonusree’s medical expenses. She developed high-grade fever, cough, cold, body rash, and severe respiratory distress and was admitted to Seba Hospital, where she was diagnosed with measles with severe pneumonia, with an oxygen saturation of only 89%. The family learned about Helpster Charity through volunteer Tanjila Shahin Ema and is seeking support because they cannot afford the required hospital treatment. Without timely treatment, severe pneumonia associated with measles may rapidly worsen, causing dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, severe infection, and potentially life-threatening complications.

According to the treating doctors, hospitalization with isolation, parenteral antibiotics, nebulization, and other supportive therapy is recommended to manage Tonusree Rani Biswas’s measles with severe pneumonia. With timely treatment and close monitoring, her respiratory distress and infection are expected to improve, helping her recover safely. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may progress to worsening respiratory distress, dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and other serious complications. Measles may also lead to further complications, making timely hospital-based treatment essential for Tonusree’s recovery and survival.
