Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Jihan Ahmed is a cheerful 16-month-old boy who developed high-grade fever, cold and cough, severe breathing difficulty, and abdominal distension before being admitted to Seba Hospital on 13 September 2026. His father, Jafran Ahmed, 25, is the sole earner and works as a day labourer, earning approximately USD 41 per month, while his mother, Samima Akter, 22, is a homemaker; the family lives in a modest tin-roofed house with a mud floor. With such limited income, the family struggles to meet their basic needs and cannot afford the cost of Jihan’s hospitalization and treatment. They learned about Helpster Charity through their neighbour and sought support for Jihan’s treatment. Without timely treatment for severe pneumonia, his breathing difficulty and low oxygen level could worsen, potentially leading to respiratory failure and other life-threatening complications.

Prognosis

According to the treating doctors, hospitalization with isolation (to avoided HAI), parenteral antibiotics, nebulization, and other supportive therapy is recommended to manage Sami’s severe pneumonia with measles. With timely treatment and close monitoring, his respiratory distress and infection are expected to improve, helping him recover safely and return to normal activities. If left untreated, severe pneumonia may progress to worsening respiratory distress, dangerously low oxygen levels, respiratory failure, and other serious complications.
