Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

God’stime is the third child in a family of five and lives with his parents and siblings. His mother farms cassava, sometimes processing it into cassava powder to sell and sometimes buying cassava for resale. His father earns a living through farm labour and other work, bringing the family's estimated monthly income to about ₦30,000. About two years ago, the family noticed that the left side of God’stime's scrotum was becoming enlarged. They tried treating him with local herbs, but the swelling has continued to increase without improvement. Despite the family's financial difficulties, his parents have continued trying to provide for their children and keep them in school.

Prognosis

Master Oladipo God's Time, a 5-year-old male, presents with a left scrotal swelling that has been progressively increasing in size since birth and has persisted for 5 months despite treatment with local herbs. He has been clinically diagnosed with a left hydrocele and requires surgical intervention, but the procedure is currently pending approval. If left untreated, the hydrocele may lead to complications including testicular atrophy from pressure effects, increased risk of inguinal hernia with potential incarceration, infection of the sac, and possible future fertility issues, making timely surgical repair essential.
