Simon is a 9 y.o. boy who started showing signs of skin irritation 3 months ago. The symptoms were on and off, and the family didn’t undertake any actions. Other kids in the village hesitated to play with Simon, as he had the areas of strange-looking skin. Simon was diagnosed with Scalded skin syndrome with allergic contact dermatitis. Simon lives in a family of four people, while only one person works. That results in living beyond the poverty line. Admission date - 26. July 2023. Treatment date: 26.July 2023.

Simon had a generalized rash in the whole body and some areas had pus oozing out. Due to the fact that his blood tests were a little deranged and showed some infection in the blood, he was treated as an in-patient, responded well to treatment and was discharged. Simon himself was elated that now he can go and freely play with his friends. Initially, when he had the skin infections, he was a little downtrodden because he felt as if his friends would look down upon him because of the skin infection. He is now happy to play with his friends. He appreciated Helpster Charity for having treated him because his father had told him that he does not have any money to pay in the hospital for his treatment.

The affected skin areas should be treated with a narrow spectrum penicillin antibiotic that exerts specific activity against Gram positive organisms in skin and soft tissue infections. If left untreated, the rash may spread on other parts of the body and progress.
