Ahmad A., 9

Ahmad is a 9 year old boy living with his parent at Lagos Bridge, along Lagos street. Ahmad's father is abricklayer who survives on ny job that comes his way. Ahmad does not attend school because his parent cannot afford. He however attends Islamiyya (arabic school). He developed rashes which are dark spots on his skin and spreads to all parts of the body. That was not taken seriously until he was brought to Nakowa on the complain of serious headache and blockage in his nostril which makes it difficult for him. Ahmad's parent thought he will be fine. They managed the child until Helpster volunteers did community outreach. The child was examined and diagnosed with Ear infection (Otitis Media), Malaria, URTI, and Skin Infection.

Ahmad faced a tough fight battling otitis media, malaria, an upper respiratory tract infection, and a skin infection all at once. His family was overwhelmed but never lost hope. With dedicated medical care and the generous support of the Helpster charity covering his treatment, Ahmad gradually healed. His parents are deeply thankful for the help that brought their son back to health and happiness.

If Ahmad is not treated promptly for Otitis Media, Malaria, and Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI), he could experience several serious complications. If Otitis Media is not treated urgently, it can lead to infection can damage the structures in the middle ear, leading to temporary or permanent hearing loss. If the Malaria is not treated timely, it can lead to severe Anemia, that is, the destruction of red blood cells can cause severe fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath. The URTI can spread to the sinuses, causing inflammation and severe sinus pain.
