Candy is an 8-year-old with a bright, infectious smile that lights up any room. Her cheerful disposition and constant laughter makes her a joy to be around. Candy dreams of becoming a teacher one day, hoping to spread happiness and knowledge with her ever-present smile. She begun experiencing severe abdominal pain at the umbilical region. The pain was crampy in nature and was associated with multiple episodes of loose stool. She was vomiting after feeding and was unable to retain food. Symptoms were also associated with a headache, fever and general body weakness.

Candy presented with history of hotness of the body for 3 days not relieved by any over the counter medication,also reported of associated severe and throbbing globular headache with no relieving factors and multiple episodes of vomiting everything. Upon completion of the clinical assessment of the patient full hemogram,random blood sugars and blood smear for malaria parasites were done which showed the presence of malaria parasites. The patient was injected with artemether which is an anti malarial drug, metocloperamide injection was also given to stop the vomiting and paracetamol and P Alaxin tabs were given on discharge A follow up visit at their home confirmed that Candy is now doing well

Complications of amebiasis may include: Liver abscess (collection of parasites and pus in the liver) Medicine side effects, including nausea. Spread of the parasite through the blood to the liver, lungs, brain, or other organs The outcome of malaria is usually good when treated adequately with anti malarial based on the severity of the infection, when left untreated the prognosis is very poor since other complications are likely to set in like hypoglycemia which is low blood sugar levels, also other sequelae like kidney damage may set in
