Elvis, a five-year-old boy, is the fourth-born in a family of seven, including his parents and four siblings. He attends a local primary school in his village and is a cheerful child who enjoys playing football and running around with his peers. He dreams of becoming a police officer in the future. Elvis is a five-year-old boy from a family of eight. He lives with his parents and four siblings in a two-room rental house located in a rural area. The family does not have a permanent residence and relies on their mother as the sole breadwinner. She sells green groceries which does not give her much, earning an estimated profit of approximately KSh 2,000 per month. The family accesses water from a nearby stream and uses a pit latrine as their sanitation facility. Additionally, their home does not have access to electricity. Elvis had always been healthy and active until two days ago when his mother noticed he was unwell. He developed a cough, joint pain, chills, and fever. His mother gave him painkillers, but when his condition did not improve, she decided to take him to the hospital, despite concerns about affording the medical bills. The joint pains were so severe and he writhed in pain that his mother could not ignore any more. He carried the boy and rushed him to the hospital; After examination, the doctor diagnosed Elvis with severe pneumonia, moderate anemia, and sickle cell disease with a vaso-occlusive crisis. Due to the severity of his condition, he was admitted for close medical monitoring.

Elvis wafula was diagonised with severe pneumonia ,anaemia which was moderate and vaso-occlusive crisis. He came to hospital but since his condition was life threating the doctor decided to admit him for close monitoring of his health condition .He later showed some signs of improvement after being given antibiotics and IV fluids and the doctor advised that he be discharged for home bed rest as he takes the remaining antibiotics . Four days later, I made a call to the mother and she couldn't hide her joy as depicted from her words, " I'm so happy that Elvis is fine ,goes to school and plays with his friends again .Thank you Helpster Charity Organisation and Bokoli fraternity for restoring my sons health back .May God bless you."

Earlier treatment and medication of vaso-occlusive crisis and severe pneumonia saved his life as these two health problems are usually life threatening.
