Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Oluwatosin is a 5-year-old boy who has a swelling on the right side of his groin. Unfortunately, his parents can't afford the cost of his medical care. Oluwatosin enjoys dancing and playing football with his friends.

Medical history

Oluwatosin was successfully operated for right inguinal hernia on 20th of October 2023, and discharged home on the 24th of October 2023. He is doing great now.

Outcome

If left untreated, inguinal hernias can lead to complications such as bowel obstruction, strangulation (where blood supply to the herniated tissue is cut off), and significant pain or discomfort. Surgery is the most common treatment for inguinal hernias to repair the weakened area and prevent these potential complications.
