Deborah W., 6

Deborah is a 6 y.o. girl who lives in a household that contains 8 people. No one works when they have struggled a lot father can manage to get 600/= monthly when he has worked as a manual labourer in the neighbouring farms. She has been unwell for the past 3 days. The mother had hesitated to bring the child to hospital fearing she will not be able to pay the hospital bill until one of her neighbours told her about Helpster Charity. She is glad that the child will be treated. Deborah would like to be a nurse when she grows up, and likes playing with her dolls and injecting them like nurses do.

Deborah is now doing well. She was treated as an in-patient. She is now also able to pass the normal amount of urine. Her mother was happy with Helpster Charity; she was very nervous and sad when she came to the hospital, seeing the child confused and also worried that she may not be able to get enough money for the child's treatment. She is back to her favorite dolls, and can treat them just like she was treated at the hospital.

The patient was presented to our facility with fever, abdominal pain, confusion, and cough. The patient was diagnosed of acute kidney injury due to severe malaria. If not treated, it can lead to kidney damage.
