Calistus, a Grade 2 pupil at a rural primary school, lives with his mother and three siblings. His father, the family's main provider, is a farmer who earns about KSh 1,200 per month from selling farm produce. Calistus is passionate about learning and hopes to become a teacher one day. He also enjoys playing football. A day ago, Calistus developed a fever, experienced dizziness, and was restless throughout the day. He is known to be suffering from sickle cell disease. Due to financial constraints, the family was unable to purchase medication. Community health promoters referred them to a nearby health facility, where they were received by the Helpster Charity team. After evaluating the family's situation, the team offered support. Medical examination revealed that Calistus had malaria and was anemic, had a low blood count, and appeared generally unwell.

Prognosis is good, especially after giving fluids and anti pain medication to relieve the pain. Calistus was in a crisis and having a lot of pain and he was treated and given drugs and if the condition could have remained untreated it could have resulted to organ damage
