Malam Umar, a renowned Islamic scholar, recently brought to our attention a remarkable 12-year-old student. This young boy has been studying the Quran at Malam Umar's Islamic school for the past two years, where he has developed a passion for reciting the holy Quran. In addition to his love for Quranic recitation, Child is also an avid football player. His parents enrolled him in the Islamic school five year ago, where he has been thriving under Malam Umar's guidance. The child developed cough and fever, on presentation at our hospital, he was diagnosed with Pertusis (Whooping Cough) and Severe Malaria. Requires urgent treatment.

A 12-year-old patient was admitted with symptoms of fever, vomiting, headache, and general weakness. After examination and investigation, the patient was diagnosed with acute malaria. Treatment started on may 19, 2025, included antimalarial medication, intravenous fluids, multivitamins, and antipyretics. The patient showed significant improvement and was discharged on may 21, 2025, as symptoms subsided. The parent was educated on preventive measures, including the use of long-lasting insecticide-treated mosquito nets and maintaining a clean environment to reduce the risk of malaria.

Malaria should be treated promptly with the use of antimalarial drugs. If left untreated, it can lead to severe complications and even death. It can result in organ failure, severe anemia, neurological issues, and in some cases, prove fatal, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial for preventing these life-threatening consequences.
