Binta brought to Ayaji hospital with the following complaint, started having lower abdominal pain associated with back pain and vaginal discharge about 1 day prior to presentation. ​The initial impression was she was diagnosed Prolonged obstructed labour secondary to hydrocephalus and fetal distress.

Binta presented with 1 day of lower abdominal pain, back pain, and vaginal discharge. Diagnosis was prolonged obstructed labour secondary to fetal hydrocephalus and distress. Vaginal delivery was deemed impossible and dangerous. Prognosis was dire without surgery, but good with prompt Cesarean Section. An emergency C-section was performed successfully. A live infant was delivered and transferred for neonatal care. Mother's postoperative recovery was stable. Both were discharged with follow-up plans. Timely surgical intervention was critical in preventing maternal and fetal mortality in this case of mechanical obstruction

Binta presented prolonged instructed labor with hydrocephalus, and the medical opinion is that a spontaneous or assisted vaginal delivery is impossible or too dangerous due to the mechanical obstruction caused by the hydrocephalus. The prognosis is dire without urgent intervention but good with prompt Cesarean Section.
