Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.

Background

Mahmud is a 3-year-old boy. He is a known Sickle Cell Diseased who's always calm, lovely and social child. Mahmud presented with complaints of severe pains in his limbs, abdomen and back. prior to the onset of the pain he was said to have suffered from a febrile illness. On presentation at our hospital, he was evaluated and diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease Crisis.

Medical history

Mahmud, who's a known sickle cell disease patient was admitted in our facility and managed as a case of Vaso-Ocpatients crisis precipitated by Malaria. He was stabilized, had his complete dosages of antimalarials and other supportive medications. He responded well to the treatment as presenting symptoms subsided. He was later discharged home with oral medications following the improvement of his condition to complete his recovery.

Outcome

With prevention of diseases and prompt and appropriate management of various diseases in sickle cell patients, they can live a normal life with minimal crisis and complications from the sickle cell disease.
