Prince is the second-born child of a young mother. His father abandoned them while the mother was still pregnant. The mother, who dropped out of school and is currently unemployed, lives with her paternal grandmother in a two-roomed house, along with several cousins. The grandmother is the sole provider for the household. According to the mother, Prince began coughing and stopped breastfeeding. She also noticed flu-like symptoms. Hoping the condition would improve on its own, she kept him at home for two days. However, when his symptoms persisted, she decided to take him to the hospital for medical care.

Prince was brought to the hospital with complaints of coughing, fever, and not breastfeeding well. He was diagnosed with severe pneumonia and had to be admitted for further management. Prince responded well to treatment and was discharged on amoxicillin, ranferon, and paracetamol. His mother revealed through a phone call that Prince had recovered and was feeding well.

Untreated pneumonia can lead to severe and potentially life-threatening complications, including respiratory failure, lung abscesses, sepsis, and organ damage. The infection can also spread to other organs, further complicating the situation.
