Khatune Jannat is a cheerful 7-year-old girl who loves playing with her friends. Her family, living in poverty with a monthly income of only BDT 6,000, struggles to afford even their basic needs. Her father, Belal Hossain, is a day laborer earning BDT 6,000 a month, and her mother, Kulsum Begum, is a housewife caring for Khatune. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics, her recurring coughs, sore throat, and breathing difficulties have worsened into chronic tonsillitis, causing her constant pain and discomfort. Without the recommended tonsillectomy, Khatune’s health will continue to decline, and she may face serious complications that could affect her growth and happiness forever. Her family’s limited resources make it impossible for them to pay for the surgery, leaving her at risk of ongoing suffering and poor quality of life.

Khatune suffered from chronic tonsillitis that caused her intense throat pain, high fever, and swollen tonsils almost every month. She had trouble swallowing both food and liquids, which led to weight loss and weakness. The constant discomfort made it hard for her to sleep at night, and she frequently missed school due to illness. Her immune system seemed weakened, as she caught colds and infections very easily. Khatune was admitted on 19/07/25, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 20/07/25. After a successful tonsillectomy, Khatune is now recovering well. She and her parents are deeply grateful to the Helpster Donors and Narayanganj Polyclinic for their generous support, as the family could not afford the surgery on their own.

The patient's recurrent coughs, colds, sore throats, fevers, and breathing difficulties are indicative of chronic adenotonsillar hypertrophy, which is significantly impairing their respiratory function. An adenotonsillectomy is medically indicated to alleviate these symptoms and prevent potential complications such as recurrent respiratory infections, sleep apnea, and long-term health issues. Prompt surgical intervention is essential to improve the patient’s quality of life and overall health outcomes.
