Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background

Minhaj’s family lives in a crumbling home, barely surviving on his father’s unstable income. His grandfather, an aging rickshaw puller, and his young mother, Mili, pray for a miracle—their baby’s eyesight is fading fast. Without treatment, Retinopathy of Prematurity will steal his vision forever, leaving him in darkness. The cost of the injections is beyond their reach, and time is slipping away. Minhaj’s only hope lies in the kindness of Helpster Heroes —before it’s too late.

Medical history

Minhaj Islam, a 1-month-old infant, required urgent treatment for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes to prevent possible blindness. He was treated with Anti-VEGF injections by Dr. Md Saiful Islam, the hospital’s ROP Specialist. The treatment was successful, with abnormal blood vessel growth now under control and significant improvement in the retinal condition. With regular follow-up, there is strong hope that Minhaj will be able to see clearly. Heartfelt thanks to Helpster Charity and the Helpster Heroes for their vital support in restoring his vision.

Outcome

Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, ROP Specialist at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital in Chandpur, have assessed Abdur Raian’s case and strongly recommended urgent intervention. They have advised that immediate administration of Anti-VEGF injections in both eyes can effectively stop the abnormal vessel growth and prevent further damage. With timely treatment and routine follow-up, Abdur Raian has a high chance of developing healthy vision and growing up to lead a normal life. However, if left untreated, the damage will be permanent and life-altering, affecting not just his vision but also his cognitive, social, and emotional development. We sincerely request Helpster Charity to consider this appeal and support baby Abdur Raian’s eye treatment. Your kind contribution can save him from a lifetime of darkness and open the door to a world of opportunity and joy.
