Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

YOBE STATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL DAMATURU
Damaturu, Yobe State, 6 Gujba Road, Nigeria
Background
Fatima Saleh is a calm and gentle one-year-old who rarely leaves her mother’s side. She recently developed a high fever, vomiting, and weakness, and was diagnosed with acute malaria at the hospital. Fatima’s family lives in very modest conditions and the cost of treatment was far beyond their means. Without treatment, Fatima’s condition could become life-threatening.
Medical history
Fatima was admitted in our facility and managed as a case of Malaria complicated by Chest infection. She had her full dosages of IV antimalarials, antibiotics and other supportive medications. She was also rehydrated with IV fluids. As the treatment progressed, she responded well as evidenced by resolving of admitting symptoms. She was later discharged home with oral medications following the improvement of her condition.
Outcome
When treated early and appropriately, malaria is curable. But when left unattended to, it can cause complicated cases which can lead to the loss of the patient.
