Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

YOBE STATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL DAMATURU

Damaturu, Yobe State, 6 Gujba Road, Nigeria

Background

Aisha is a calm child who's always smiling to people. Likes being with her mother always. Aisha presented with a 5-day history of fever, cough, runny nose, conjunctivitis and a characteristic body rash which started on the face then later spread to the other body parts. Parents also noticed her to be having fast breathing. On presentation at our hospital, Aisha was reviewed, evaluated, and diagnosed with Measles.

Medical history

Aisha was admitted in ourfacility and managed as a case of Measles complicated by Bronchopneumonia. Had her complete dosages of parenteral antibiotics and other supplementary medications. She was also re-hydrated and placed on oxygen support. She responded well to the treatment as the presenting symptoms subsided. She was later discharged home with oral medications to continue with follow-up.

Outcome

With adequate nutritional and supportive care measles is curable. Pneumonia is also curables with the administration of antibiotics. However when these diseases are left untreated they can be deadly.
