Background

A 14yr old girl, first born in a family of 5 siblings. Would like to be a Dr when she grows up and likes the fact that she will be called Dr. Ruth Wekesa. She would like to have a hospital that is able to take care of underprivileged children. Has been unwell since last week, was given analgesics but only got worse. Presented to the hospital with hotness of body, cough, nasal congestion. Has been treated and discharged on August 21st, 2023

Medical history

Patient who was initially on over the counter anaelgesics was later brought to the hospital for an assessment; a proper diagnosis was made and the patient was put on medication and progressed well.

Outcome

Pneumonia can lead to various complications, including pleural effusion (fluid buildup around the lungs), abscess formation, respiratory failure, and, in severe cases, sepsis (a life-threatening infection that can affect the whole body). With treatment good prognosis
