Md Muzahid is a lively and cheerful 6-year-old boy from a small village, whose dreams of becoming a footballer are fading as his vision worsens due to Congenital Cataract and squint. His father, Anowar Hossain, works tirelessly as a rented rickshaw puller earning just BDT 5,000 a month, but their limited income barely covers their basic needs in their fragile tin house. Muzahid’s bright eyes now struggle to recognize faces and play with friends, and without urgent surgery costing BDT 90,000, he risks losing his sight forever—his world turning dark just when he’s about to discover its colors. His family’s hope is fading along with his vision, and they desperately turn to Helpster Charity for help to save his future and keep his dreams alive.

Md Muzahid, a 6-year-old boy, required cataract surgery in his right eye as the condition had significantly reduced his vision. He underwent the procedure with intraocular lens implantation under general anesthesia, performed by Dr. Taslima Akter Tania, Consultant of the Hospital. The surgery was successful, and his visual acuity has improved remarkably. Muzahid can now see clearly with his operated eye, giving him a brighter and healthier future. According to Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Rashedur Rahman Talukder, Senior Consultant at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, immediate surgical intervention can fully restore vision in both of Muzahid’s eyes, provided the cataracts are removed on time and replaced with intraocular lenses. The doctors have given a hopeful prognosis, emphasizing that with the right treatment, Muzahid can return to normal vision, correct the squint with glasses, and enjoy a full and healthy childhood. He will be able to start school, interact with others confidently, and chase his dreams—just like any other child. However, if this surgery is delayed, the damage may become irreversible, leading to lifelong blindness, emotional distress, and total dependence on others.
