Rafsan Miah is a fragile, one-month-old baby born prematurely with a low birth weight and serious heart disease, facing a life-threatening risk from Retinopathy of Prematurity that could blind him forever. His father, Md Abul Hossain, was once the family’s main provider working as a construction laborer, but a tragic accident left him permanently injured and unable to work, leaving the family struggling to survive on his small pension and his son Rakib’s part-time earnings. Their modest tin house in Char Rampur is filled with worry and uncertainty, as they desperately seek help to save Rafsan’s eyesight before it’s too late. Without urgent treatment, Rafsan may lose his sight forever, robbing him of the chance to see the faces of those who love him and enjoy life’s simple joys.

Rafsan Miah, a 1-month-old infant, urgently required treatment for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) in both eyes to prevent the risk of blindness. He received Anti-VEGF injections from Dr. Md Saiful Islam, the hospital’s ROP Specialist. The treatment went smoothly, successfully controlling abnormal blood vessel growth and improving the retinal condition. With continued monitoring, there is strong hope that Rafsan will be able to see clearly as he grows. Saiful Islam, a Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) specialist at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Chandpur, immediate intervention is critical. With the Anti-VEGF injection, Rafsan’s vision can be saved, and the normal development of his eyesight can resume. The doctors are hopeful that with this timely treatment, Rafsan can grow up with normal vision and enjoy a full, independent life. However, any delay could result in irreversible blindness—robbing him of the ability to see, learn, play, or recognize his family.
