Nahian is a bright and cheerful 3-year-old boy full of curiosity and joy, but his vision is rapidly worsening due to Congenital Cataract in his left eye. His family lives in a small, humble home with his grandmother Monowara Begum, who is 70 years old and cannot work, and his parents—his father Md. Kamal Hossain, a farmer who sometimes works as a day laborer, and his mother Nasima Begum, a housewife. His older brother Fahim is 18 and studying in HSC class. With a monthly income of only 8,000 to 9,000 Taka, they cannot afford the BDT 40,500 needed for Nahian’s surgery. Without urgent treatment, Nahian risks losing his sight forever, which would mean a life of darkness and missed childhood adventures. His parents’ dreams for his future are slipping away because they simply cannot find the money to save his eyesight. They are desperately hoping for help to give their son a chance to see the world clearly and live a happy life.

Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant of the Hospital, Nahian underwent cataract surgery under anesthesia. The procedure went smoothly without any complications, and his recovery has been excellent. After the surgery, his vision improved significantly, and he can now see clearly with his operated eye. Nahian is now active, cheerful, and enjoys playing and learning again. His family is relieved and overjoyed to see him regain his sight. The doctors have recommended immediate cataract extraction and lens implantation, followed by regular follow-up to monitor his visual development. With timely surgery, Nahian stands a strong chance of regaining useful vision in his left eye, enabling him to play freely, learn effectively, and lead an independent life. If left untreated, however, the eye will remain functionally blind, and the damage will become permanent and irreversible.
