Abu, a 2-year-old boy from Narayanganj, lives with his parents Hridoy Hossain and Sinmin Akter, along with his 4-year-old brother Anaf and grandmother Panna Begum in a small tin-shed house. His father works as a salesman in a butcher shop earning only 7500 taka a month, which is barely enough to meet their basic needs. Recently, Abu developed severe pneumonia with difficulty breathing, high fever, and refusal to feed, requiring urgent hospital care. However, due to their poverty, they cannot afford the high costs of treatment at private or tertiary hospitals. If Abu does not receive proper treatment promptly, he risks worsening respiratory failure, which could lead to death or long-term health complications.

Abu, a 2-year-old child, had been battling recurrent respiratory tract infections for the past few months, but this time, his condition worsened as he developed severe pneumonia. Despite multiple courses of antibiotics from local pharmacies, his health continued to decline, leaving him lethargic and in a toxic state. In desperate need of emergency hospitalization, he received critical care at Narayanganj Polyclinic, including oxygen therapy, nebulization with sulbutamol, ipratropium bromide, budesonide, and injectable antibiotics, along with hydrocortisone due to the seriousness of his condition. Abu was admitted on 25/06/25, received treatment, and was discharged from the hospital on 29/06/25. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Abu is doing well and has returned home, bringing joy back to his family. With tears of gratitude in their eyes, his parents said, "Thank you to Helpster Donors and Narayanganj Polyclinic for saving our son's life; we are forever grateful for your support!"

The patient was suffering from severe pneumonia, which posed a life-threatening risk and required immediate treatment. Upon admission, he received emergency care, including intramuscular antibiotics, nebulization, and oxygen support, as intravenous administration was not feasible due to repeated cannula displacement. If left untreated, this condition could have led to serious lung infections, respiratory failure, sepsis, and potentially death; however, I am pleased to report that the patient is now doing well and has returned to his normal daily life, bringing smiles to his parents' faces.
