Bilal M., 6

Bilal is a very smart kid, the 5th among 7 children. He is living with his parents, he is currently having his primary education in a government school not very far from their residence. He wishes to make a positive impact in his community when he grows up. Amidst the challenges of life, the health of Bilal was affected few weeks ago that made him stay away from school. He started having fever, headache and abdominal pain. The parents became so worried as there's no finaces to take care of Bilal. Help came through as soon as Helpster reached out to them at Albishir Clinic. On presentation at our clinic, he was evaluated and diagnosed with Mumps (Parotitis) and Malaria.

When Bilal visited Albishir Clinic, the doctor diagnosed him with malaria and mumps (parotitis). Helpster Charity supported his medications, the doctor prescribed some antimalarials drugs as well as other supportive medications. He was closely being observed and the positive response to treatment was encouraging. After some days he was discharged. Some take home drugs was given based on doctor's prescription and a day for follow up was arranged.

Mumps usually has a good outcome. Most people recover fully in 1–2 weeks, in the case of Bilal, early treatment was given and should begin to heal within a short while. Complications are rare but can affect fertility or hearing.
