Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Yego comes from a family of squatters who do not own any land. She lives with her parents and five siblings in extremely difficult conditions. While neighboring families struggle to afford at least one meal a day, Yego’s family considers themselves fortunate if they manage to eat once every two days. Two days ago, Yego began experiencing a range of symptoms, including headache, joint weakness, vomiting, chest pain, difficulty breathing, and a cold. Due to lack of finances, her family could not afford proper medical care, so they resorted to purchasing over-the-counter medication. Unfortunately, her condition continued to deteriorate. It was only when community health promoters came across her situation that she was referred to a health facility with the support of Helpster.
Medical history
Damaris arrived at the facility with multiple concerning symptoms, including joint pain, severe headache, general body weakness, diarrhea, chest pain, difficulty in breathing, and a high fever. Following a thorough clinical examination and laboratory investigations, she was diagnosed with severe malaria and pneumonia. She was admitted for inpatient care and started on intravenous artesunate along with additional medications and supportive treatment. Over the course of her admission, Damaris responded positively to the treatment. Her symptoms gradually improved, and once she was stable and recovering well, she was discharged home. A follow-up phone call made one week after her discharge confirmed that Damaris has continued to improve and is now doing well.
Outcome
Yego's condition was managed and recovered the prognosis is good.
