Maryam is a 27 year old kind woman, who is friendly to all. She likes taking care of her children and her priority is for her children to be at school. She presented to hospital at 27 weeks of pregnancy with complaints of Headache, Fever, Blurring of vision, Body Swelling, Palpitation, Vomiting, body weakness and Anorexia. On evaluation at our hospital, she was diagnosed with Severe Anemia in Pregnancy secondary to Malaria.

Maryam, a 27 weeks pregnant presented to our facility with complaints of Headache, Fever, Blurring of vision, Body Swelling, Palpitation, Vomiting, body weakness and Anorexia. Following proper evaluation, she was diagnosed with Severe Anemia in pregnancy secondary to Malaria. She had a complete dosages of parenteral Antimalarials and Analgesics. She also had blood transfusion appropriately. As the treatment progressed, she responded well evidenced by resolving of her presenting symptoms. She was then discharged home with oral medications following the improvement of her condition to continue with her recovery and ANC.

Maryam is suffering from severe anemia in pregnancy due to Malaria, its severe form is curable with the appropriate antimalarial drugs and many of the complications are treatable also. But when left untreated, it can be life threatening especially in its severe forms.
