Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Ten-year-old Lamia Tabassum, a bright and kind-hearted class 4 student from rural Chatkhil, Noakhali, dreams of finishing her education, but a congenital cyst in her right eye is robbing her of vision day by day. She lives with her widowed mother Rabeya Begum, her 18-year-old sister Jannatul Ferdous who left school due to poverty, her brother Arafat Islam who is disabled and blind, and her elderly grandparents in their grandfather’s small tin-roofed house with an outdoor kitchen and pit latrine. Lamia’s father, Alamgir Hossain, died of COVID-19 in 2020, leaving the family with no land, no savings, and a monthly income of only BDT 5,000. Without urgent surgery, Lamia may become permanently blind, losing her chance to continue school and live independently. The family is desperately appealing for help to raise BDT 22,500 for her treatment and give her back her vision and future.
Medical history
Lamia Tabassum, a 10-year-old girl, required surgical treatment due to a cyst in her right eye that was causing discomfort and affecting her vision. She underwent successful excision of the cyst under anesthesia, performed by Dr. Md. Rashedur Rahman Talukder, Senior Consultant of the Hospital. The surgery went smoothly, and her recovery has been positive. Lamia now feels comfortable, her vision has improved, and she can see clearly again. Sincere thanks to Helpster Charity and the Helpster Heroes for their generous support in helping her regain healthy vision.
Outcome
According to the statement of Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain Sk, Chief Consultant, and Dr. Md. Rashedur Rahman Talukder, Senior Consultant at Mazharul Haque BNSB Eye Hospital, Lamia needs urgent surgery under general anesthesia. They have confirmed that the procedure will significantly improve her condition and restore proper vision in her right eye. With timely treatment, Lamia can return to school, regain her focus, and grow up with the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life. However, if the cyst is left untreated, her condition may worsen and could lead to irreversible vision loss.
