Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Background
Aslamiya Abdullahi is a child of 5 years old. Growing up in a nuclear family, the parents are living peacefully and wishes Aslamya would be great some day. Aslamiya is a healthy growing child until a year ago, while the mother was preparing the Nigerian northern traditional swallow also known as 'tuwo', she fell and dipped her left hand into the hot pot of Tuwo and it caused scalding injury to the hand. She was managed at home but later developed difficulty flexing her fingers and moving her wrist. On presentation at our hospital, Aslamiya was evaluated and diagnosed with broad Hypertrophic Scars on the dorsum of the distal half of her left forearm secondary to the scalding injuries from the Hot food. She will benefit greatly from a scar excision and corrective surgery - split thickness grafting to correct the defects and improve her range of motion on the left hand.
Medical history
Aslamiya. Patient is a 5year old female presented with a left forearm post-burns contracture following contact burns. She had scar excision and skin grafting to release the contracture, did well and was discharged to continue physiotherapy, prescribed drugs and care of residual postop site. To see in 1 week for follow up. Patient was stable at discharge and very happy with outcome. Patient and relatives are very happy and extend gratitude to Helpster Charity and team.
Outcome
Such scarring can impair joint movement and may require surgical and physiotherapy revision for functional improvement as in the case of Aslamiya.
