Khadija is a 2-year-old lives with her mother she is an orphan her father died immediate after she was born who had fever for about 5 days with headaches and abdominal severe malaria, she has used antibiotics to no avail and her mother is out of funds. Upon presentation she was diagnosed of severe Malaria and broncho pneumonia the correct approach involves a combination of effective antimalarial and antibiotic therapy, as well as prompt supportive care.

Khadija presented with Severe malaria and bronchopneumonia, had investigations done and admitted into the hospital for appropriate management. The patient received an immediate intravenous (IV) dose of Artesunate (2.4 mg/kg), blood transfusion, and other medications that helped to treat the infection and relieve the fever, headaches, and abdominal discomfort. She recovered progressively and returned to playing with his friends, laughter echoing through the village. Her parents, forever grateful to Helpster charity and the medical staff, treatment that saved their son’s life.

Doctors emphasize that a severe malaria diagnosis should be made as soon as possible, even presumptively, in a patient with a fever and a history of recent travel to an endemic area. Early diagnosis is crucial because the disease can progress to a fatal outcome within hours or days. The diagnosis is confirmed by blood tests to identify the presence and species of the malaria parasite.
