Khaleda Akter, a 30-year-old housewife and mother of two daughters, lives with her husband Fazlul Haque, a van driver earning only 8,000 taka per month, along with her elderly in-laws. Despite her love for cooking and her simple dream of safely giving birth, the family struggles to manage daily expenses with their limited income. Now in her third pregnancy, at 36+ weeks, she experienced reduced fetal movements, and doctors diagnosed her with fetal distress and severe oligohydramnios. Without timely treatment, both Khaleda and her unborn child could face life-threatening complications. Her supportive yet financially strained family desperately hopes for help so that mother and baby can survive and return safely home together.

After experiencing less fetal movement for 1 day for over 36+ weeks, she arrived at our hospital in 26/08/2025 at 12.30pm, where doctors performed an ultrasound that revealed severe oligohydro amnions with fetal distress , making vaginal delivery impossible. An emergency cesarean section was promptly arranged, and the procedure was successful, resulting in the birth of a beautiful baby girl. Both the mother and the baby are safe and sound, with no complications arising from the surgery. We discharged the Patient in 28/08/2025 at 10.30am.The patient's family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Helpster Heroes and the hospital for their timely and effective care.

Given the patient's condition, the doctor's prognosis emphasizes the necessity of close monitoring and timely intervention to ensure a safe outcome. If the oligohydramnios is left unaddressed, the risk of the umbilical cord becoming compressed increases dramatically, which can cut off the baby's vital oxygen and nutrient supply and lead to fetal distress, brain damage, or even stillbirth. The doctor's treatment plan will likely involve careful fetal monitoring and a decision on the safest time and method of delivery, which, given the previous C-section, will likely be a planned cesarean section. By proceeding with a medically supervised delivery, the doctors can mitigate the risks associated with both the low amniotic fluid and the prior surgical history, leading to a much safer and healthier outcome for both the mother and the baby.
