Kabiru A., 12

Kabiru is an active 12-year-old boy who enjoys playing outdoor games like football. He dreams of becoming a doctor to help others and improve health in his community, inspired by his own experience with illness. Kabiru developed acute malaria after playing outdoors in a mosquito-prone area. He experienced high fever, chills, headache, and weakness for three days before being admitted to the hospital. On presentation at our hospital, she was evaluated and diagnosed with Acute Severe Malaria. After receiving treatment with intravenous artesunate and supportive care, he improved significantly and was discharged healthy with no parasites detected.

Kabiru Abubakar Kanuri, a 12-year-old boy diagnosed with acute malaria, was admitted on 20th July 2025 in general hospital nguru. with high-grade fever and general weakness. He was treated with intravenous Artesunate and later oral Primaquine, along with Paracetamol for fever, hydration, and nutritional support. By the third day, his symptoms resolved, and follow-up blood smears were negative for malaria. The doctor’s prognosis is that with proper treatment, Kabiru will fully recover without complications. However, if left untreated, the malaria could become severe, leading to serious illness or even death.
