Logis Lomoit, a 12-year-old child living at Sunrise Children’s Home, was taken into the orphanage due to an ongoing violence case. She is currently enrolled in PP1 at the home’s preschool. Although she does not yet speak English or Kiswahili, she communicates in her native language and is gradually learning. When Tionycare Hospital, together with Vincent, a Helpster volunteer, visited the orphanage to explain how Helpster operates, that is how the institution learned about the organization. Logis had been well until three days ago, when she developed a cough accompanied by chest pain, sneezing, headache, fever, and scalp skin rashes. She was evaluated, diagnosed, and started on appropriate treatment. She is now recovering well and feeling much better.

Logis Lomoit, an 8-year-old girl, was brought to the hospital with symptoms of cough, chest pain, sneezing, headache, fever, and scalp skin rashes. After a thorough examination, she was diagnosed with pneumonia, malaria, and tinea capitis, a fungal infection of the scalp. Her treatment began immediately and included ceftriaxone, cefixime, and dexamethasone for pneumonia; artemether injections for malaria; and terbinafine for the fungal infection. To relieve her symptoms, she was also given Zedcoril for her cough and ibuprofen to reduce fever and pain. With consistent care and medication, Logis responded well - her fever came down, her cough eased, and her scalp began to heal. After completing her treatment, she was discharged in good health, happy and well on her way to a full recovery.

Logis was assessed, diagnosed and given the necessary treatment. With appropriate treatment for malaria and pneumonia, Logis is expected to make a good recovery. Timely administration of antimalarial drugs and antibiotics was done, and along with supportive her symptoms should improve soon.
