Why is treatment done earlier than admission?

Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

Siaya County Referral Hospital

Along siaya- Rangala road

Background

Brighton is the only child of his parents. The family lives together in a single-room mud house. His mother is a housewife, and his father works as a casual laborer at a construction site. Brighton is typically cheerful and full of energy when in good health. According to his mother, one morning while she was preparing tea, she poured most of it into a thermos but left some in the pot. As their kitchen is separate from the main house, she stood up to take the thermos inside. Brighton, curious and playful, followed her. Unfortunately, he tripped and fell, landing directly in the pot with hot tea. His mother acted quickly and rushed him to a nearby dispensary. Due to the severity of the burns, they were referred to Siaya County Referral Hospital for further treatment.

Medical history

Patient was brought to hospital casualty with history of burn wound to the glutes and penile area. His condition warranted admission and he was admitted to the ward for further management. While in the ward he was administered drugs like benzylpenicillin, morphine , IV getamycin, IV pcm among others. His wound was also dressed on alternate days using normal saline and covered with crepe bandage . He responded well to treatment and he was eventually discharged on orals. A call to the mother revealed that Brighton was well and was even playing as before

Outcome

Superficial (first-degree) burns generally heal well with conservative treatment, typically within a few days to a week. However superficial burns can be dangerous for infants and the elderly, potentially requiring admission to a hospital
