Background
Aisha Mohammed Dahiru is an imaginative 8-year-old who loves drawing, reading storybooks, and listening to folktales. She dreams of becoming a doctor one day to help others, inspired by her hospital experience. Aisha Mohammed Dahiru developed a high fever, persistent cough with yellowish sputum, difficulty breathing, and body weakness over five days. She was investigated with Chest X-ray, Full blood Count, and other evaluations. She was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia, confirmed by a chest X-ray showing right lower lobe consolidation. After receiving antibiotics, supportive care, and oxygen therapy at General Hospital Nguru, she showed marked improvement by the fifth day of admission and is now recovering well.
Prognosis
The doctor expects Aisha to recover fully with proper treatment, regaining her strength and returning to normal activities. However, if left untreated, the pneumonia could worsen, leading to severe complications like respiratory failure or even death.
