Godfavour is a 20months old baby boy being evaluated as case of Hirschsprung's disease, child's condition was first noticed after birth. There is history of delayed passage of meconium, subsequently abdominal distention and constipation, investigations including barium enema, rectal biopsy and histology were in keeping with Hirschsprung's disease and as such child will benefit from surgical intervention (Trans anal pull through). Other investigations will be required including full blood count and differentials, U/E/Cr and Grouping and cros matching of 1 unit of blood,

The child was diagnosed with delayed passage of meconium on first day of lif, difficulty passing stool, and abdominal distention;suspected Hirschsprung's disease, and causing abdominal discomfort and pain During the first few days on admission, the child's condition looked very bad due to the abdominal issues. The child underwent surgery (Transanal pull through), had infusions, and other medications. After 10 days on admission following surgery and improvement as certified by the doctor, the clinical condition of the child improved and he was discharged home in the care of his parents. The family is joyful and glad that their son has received free treatment from Helpster Charity. They are very thankful to the charity.

Due to child's condition, he would be having abdominal discomfort, inability to feed optimally as a result of the distention thus leading to poor development as his peers. Prognosis is good after surgically intervention (transanal pull through). Child would be able to pass stool on his own and hopefully alienate the chronic constipation and distention.
