Abubakar of 7 years is an orphan boy who leave with his grandmother he only attended Islamic school from amshi village. He started having fever for over a week , followed by abdominal pain and vomiting. Upon presentation at our hospital ,he was diagnosed with Malaria The initial symptoms of malaria in children can be non-specific, resembling other common childhood illnesses like the flu, gastroenteritis, or even pneumonia. The girl may have started with a high fever, headaches, chills, nausea, vomiting, and extreme weakness. However, without treatment, the disease progresses quickly from uncomplicated to severe, often within a matter of hours.

Abubakar’s was diagnosed with severe malaria. He was admitted and immediate treatment started with appropriate medications. The patient had received an immediate intravenous (IV) dose of Artesunate (2.4 mg/kg). This remains the first-line treatment for severe malaria because it clears parasites from the bloodstream significantly faster than other drugs. He returned to playing with his friends, his laughter once again echoing through the village. His parents, forever grateful to the Helpster charity and the medical staff for the life-saving treatment.

severe malaria is a medical emergency with a grave prognosis if not treated promptly. The opinion of doctors and healthcare professionals is that immediate and aggressive treatment, particularly with injectable artesunate and comprehensive supportive care, is absolutely essential to improve the patient's chances of survival and minimize long-term complications.
