Why is treatment done earlier than admission?
Sometimes, when a case is urgent and vital, hospitals may proceed with delivering medical care right away to save a life, even before the finalization of admission procedures. Usually, when this happens, hospitals put the bill on our credit until the funds are transferred to their accounts.
That's why the chronology can sometimes be in disorder.

She started experiencing chest tiredness, cough and difficulty breathing , she is not a known asthma patience before now. Upon presentation at our hospital she was diagnosed with acute Asthmatic Attack coupled with Malaria .
Medical history
Recovery and Progress With timely and appropriate treatment, most acute asthmatic exacerbations in a 12-year-old resolve effectively. In this case, the child’s symptoms improved progressively over a few hours to days following the administration of medications. There was a marked reduction in breathlessness, wheezing, and chest tightness after the use of inhaled bronchodilators such as salbutamol, which helped to open the airways, along with supplemental oxygen where necessary. Systemic corticosteroids, such as prednisolone, were also administered to reduce airway inflammation and prevent further worsening of symptoms. As the medications took effect, the child’s breathing pattern normalized, and activity level gradually returned to baseline. After stabilization, the child was maintained on prescribed medications, including inhaled corticosteroids (such as beclomethasone) for long-term control, and short-acting bronchodilators for relief of acute symptoms when needed. The parents and child were counseled on strict adherence to the asthma treatment plan. They were educated on the correct use of inhalers, including spacer devices, and advised to recognize early warning signs such as persistent cough, wheezing, or shortness of breath. Avoidance of known triggers, including dust, smoke, and cold air, was emphasized. Overall, the child showed good clinical recovery. With continued use of prescribed medications, proper inhaler technique, and regular follow-up, the prognosis remains excellent and the risk of future exacerbations can be effectively minimized.
Outcome
Asthma is a serious but manageable chronic disease. With the right care and a commitment to following a doctor's plan, most people can effectively control their symptoms and avoid severe complications, leading to a healthy and active life. However, neglecting the condition can lead to permanent lung damage and a higher risk of life-threatening events.
