Sharlene is a 10-year-old girl residing at a Children’s Home and currently attending Primary School. She is cheerful by nature and dreams of becoming a doctor in the future. She was admitted to the orphanage due to an ongoing defilement case involving her grandfather. The Children’s Home came to know about Helpster through a site visit by Tionycare Hospital and Helpster’s volunteer, Vincent. Sharlene remained in good health until five days ago when she began experiencing headaches and back pain. Upon examination, she was diagnosed with anemia and received the necessary treatment.

Sharlene, a bright and curious 10-year-old, was brought to the clinic by a social worker after she began showing signs of illness - persistent coughing, a runny nose, and a constant headache. Though she wasn’t admitted to the hospital, the doctor diagnosed her with pneumonia during the visit. To manage the infection and relieve her symptoms, she was prescribed a combination of medications: Trihistamin for her nasal symptoms, Amoxiclav to treat the infection, Ibucap for fever and pain, and Montelukast to help with her breathing. Under the care and supervision of her guardian, who closely followed the treatment plan, Sharlene rested at home. With proper medication, rest, and support, her condition steadily improved. Within days, her cough eased, her energy returned, and she was back to her usual playful and cheerful self - recovering fully without needing hospitalization, thanks to timely medical care and support.
