Blessing is a 5-year-old girl residing at the Children’s Home. Coming from a disadvantaged background, she previously had limited access to education but is now enrolled at Pre-school. She enjoys playing with her friends. The orphanage was connected to Helpster through a site visit conducted by Tionycare Hospital in partnership with Helpster’s volunteer, Vincent. Blessing has been well until three days ago when she developed a cough, headache, and runny nose. Upon examination, she was diagnosed with pneumonia.

Blessing Jebet began feeling unwell with a persistent cough, headache, and a runny nose that made it difficult for her to rest or focus during the day. Concerned about her worsening symptoms, she was taken to the clinic, where the doctor examined her and diagnosed her with pneumonia. To treat the infection and ease her discomfort, she was prescribed Amoxiclav to fight the bacterial infection, Montelukast to help with breathing and reduce inflammation, Levocetirizine to manage the allergy-like symptoms and nasal congestion, and Ibugesic to relieve her headache and fever. Blessing followed the treatment plan carefully, taking her medications on time and getting plenty of rest. Within a few days, her cough started to ease, her headache subsided, and her energy began to return. With continued care and support, Blessing made a full recovery and was soon back to her normal daily activities, healthy and smiling once again.

Blessing’s prognosis is good since her pneumonia was identified early and treated promptly. She is showing steady improvement, and with continued adherence to treatment and supportive care, she is expected to make a full recovery without complications.
