Muhammed, a 4-year-old boy with Sickle Cell Disease, experienced a sudden painful episode affecting his legs and back, known as a sickle cell (vaso-occlusive) crisis. This caused severe pain, mild fever, and difficulty moving. He was admitted to the hospital and upon presentation he was diagnosed with severe sickle cell crisis, he wss treated with fluids, pain relief, antibiotics, and supportive care. After 3 days, he improved significantly and was discharged in stable condition, with advice for ongoing care and follow-up.

Muhammed Auwal Muhammad, a 4-year-old boy with Sickle Cell Disease, was admitted in general hospital nguru on 20th July 2025 for a vaso-occlusive crisis causing severe pain in his legs and back. Treatment included intravenous fluids for hydration, pain relief with IV Tramadol and oral Paracetamol syrup, daily folic acid, and empiric antibiotics (IV Ceftriaxone). Supportive care with warm compresses and close monitoring was also provided. The child improved significantly within 72 hours, with reduced pain and better appetite, and was discharged in stable condition on 25th July 2025 with instructions for ongoing care and follow-up.special thanks to helpster charity for the medical support.

The doctor’s prognosis is that with proper treatment and care, Muhammed can manage sickle cell crises and lead a healthier life. Without treatment, the condition could worsen, causing severe pain, complications, and increased risk of serious health problems.
